You’d heard of Ask-A-Lawyer. We’re not doing that. Instead, we’ve brought a lawyer to Kanuga to ask us questions. Drawing from examples published by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Clay will present fact patterns to the audience and inquire of their reactions and how each audience member might handle the situation. The goal of the presentation is to provide multiple perspectives on complicated situations that challenge us to consider our responsibilities to the donors that we steward and the nonprofits we serve. Discussion will include references to standards adopted in the AFP Code of Ethics, the Model Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, and nonprofit state law.
